Recently, I applied for partnership on YouTube. Ali and I were on a chat and I decided to just do it. I was interested in seeing how they would reject me, not thinking that I ever had a chance. Conawillvlog had told me I would be denied because I had too few views for the amount of subscribers. Simply put, less than half of the people who subscribe actually watch my videos.
You wanna see a rejection notice? Here it is!
Dear billtvmacon,
Thank you for your interest in the YouTube Partner Program. Our goal is to extend invitations to as many partners as we can. Unfortunately we are unable to accept your application at this time. The current level of viewership of your account has not met our threshold for acceptance.
Applications are reviewed for a variety of criteria, including but not limited to the size of your audience, country of residence, quality of content, and consistency with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use. Please review the program qualifications (http://www.youtube.com/partners) for a complete list of our criteria.
As we continue to expand we hope to be able to accept a broader group of partners. We have registered your interest in the program and will continue to monitor your account for potential future acceptance into the program.
Thank you for your understanding.
Q: Will I apply again?
A: NO
Even if YouTube asked me to join I would refuse. That's just me. They've not made things better for partners except the ones that were popular two years ago. It's like having a car wreck. I'm glad to have experienced what it felt like, but don't want to do it again.

Lame...what youtube needs to focus on is quality of content, not viewcounts. What they're really saying is, you don't have enough views for us to justify the cost of paying someone to check and see if you're half-naked girl.
I think you should apply again...it does have it's advantages...not just the monetary ones.

Apply again Bill, maybe in December, partnership is like a girl, if you want to win it in a good way it's gonna be hard!
You know, it's nothing to do with subscribers, you see if you have over 1000 views on each video and some with say 5000 then you WILL get it or if you have a few mega popular and most others at or around the 1000 mark then you will win, more than 1/4 of your videos under 500 views is a big NO NO.
I agree whole heartily with you, Partnership is not worth it unless you were there 2 years ago.
Don't let one rejection stop you though you get some pretty banners even if you make zero $$$
